We set off south, passing through Camps Bay and Hout Bay and drove through Chapmans peak. Another amazing mountain/coastline drive.
We arrived at the Hoffmann house and were greeted by our friend Marine's parents - and also the dogs. We took a walk with the dogs in the back and had a great view of the nearby mountain range. Later, they prepared a braai (again I'm sure I'm not using that right..is it a noun, is it a verb, is it both??) with so much food! It's a traditional South African barbecue. It was great!
After even more tips on the wineries to visit the next day and very full bellies we went to bed, excited that we didn't have to wake up at 6am. Of course I did wake up at 6 - but it gave me time to post these!
We arrived at Cape Point unprepared for a hike in sandals, so took the funicular to the lighthouse. It was still a bit foggy, so we couldn't see very far.
Here we are with the cape of good hope behind us - taken from cape point.
After taking a bunch of photos and having impeccable tour group timing (they arrived a few minutes after we did each place, so we had a few minutes by ourselves!) we headed back towards Simons Town for lunch. Luckily we chose a place with wifi and were able to get ourselves directions to the Hoffmanns' house.
I also managed to get a few photos of ! Signs. The exclamation may be slightly overused. We saw... ! Penguins, ! Baboons, ! Sand and possibly more...also an amusing golfers sign.
On the way we stopped off at Spier winery for a wine tasting.
Here's Mr. Hoffmann showing Mo how to prepare the lamb.
After the wonderful night in Paarl, today we're heading to Franschoek and the back to Cape Town for one last night with Sarietha.
